AN INCLUSIVE WORSHIPPING BODY
- Worship at ABC is centered on God through the lens of Jesus Christ.
- Worship at ABC is not dependent on human leaders’ personal charisma or gifts.
- Music in worship represents all the church and cultural traditions in the congregation.
- Participation in worship involves young and old, as well as all ethnicities and gender expressions in the congregation.
AN AFFIRMING FAMILY FELLOWSHIP
- The ABC congregation is intergenerational, interracial, egalitarian and LGBTQIA-affirming
- Jesus’ love should be the atmosphere which governs all relationships within the congregation.
- Each active member is part of the decision-making, as ABC is congregation-led, not top-down controlled by Pastors or Elders.
- Young people are a primary focus of the church’s messaging, but the spiritual journey of older members is still a priority.
AN AUTHENTIC CHRIST-CENTERED MINISTRY
- The primary ministry of ABC is to proclaim the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ.
- Those who become part of the church are committed to cultivating in themselves and in each other Christian character and maturity of faith.
- This should involve whole-person growth, so the ministry of ABC should always involve addressing physical and relational, as well as spiritual development.
- Social concerns are also part of ABC’s ministry; speaking to Issues of injustice and encouraging members to live according to Jesus’ teachings.
AN EXPANSIVE GOSPEL COMMISSION
- A significant part of the ABC’s resources are dedicated to fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission — to spread his Gospel worldwide.
- The church regularly supports Christian missions and outreach workers that focus on Jesus as the Savior God has sent to the world.
- In selecting missions to support, the church will choose those initiatives that emphasize whole-person ministry, family and community improvement, in addition to evangelism.
- The church rejects and repents of traditional missionary patterns that included colonialism, racial superiority and white privilege.
