COVID-19 has taken away a lot from us. The deepest toll has been the deaths of our loved ones.  We’ve been robbed of physical proximity, including the communal ways we have used to mourn the deaths of our beloved.

So, for the month of March we are offering a community memorial space on our lawn. You are invited to write the name of your loved one on a flag provided for you, and plant it on our lawn, knowing that as you mourn the death of someone near to you, your community joins you. (The deaths do not have to be caused by COVID-19.) We will start at the “crop circle,” and fan out from there.

Through the weeks church members will walk through and pray for all the families and relationships that have known such deep loss. You are welcome to walk as well, to mourn, pray, reflect — this is a space for all our community to grieve. We will grieve through Good Friday, April 2nd. The next day the flags will be taken down, as we prepare for Easter Sunday.

(If you feel led, add your name and the name of your loved one to the guest book on the patio, so that we can continue to pray for you.)
