…needs to be knighted, not lighted, according to this poem by ABC’s Diane Hoelscher. (For those who have ears to hear).

Knight the ignited Candle’s
Flickering Flame of Faith.
Not the Dark;
Even a flickering knight is noble,
No matter how deep the dark;
In the battle with darkness
So easily banished in the Sun;
In the cold, dark night,
Heroes start small
And not very bold;
They flicker in the draft,
Like the hologram in the curse
On the devil when he blinks
At the switch,
Wait, What?
To make the target of the devil’s
Deception
When God steps in
As the opponent,
Not Eve,
Like a matador to a bull in the ring,
We resent being the cape,
God, who cannot be deceived
To redeem the deceived
By being a descendant
From His own creation,
Fearless against the giant
Shadows on the wall
Dancing in strobe-blinks of Time
To the faith flame ignited
Flickering in the draft
Like the stars,
By the twinkle in the eye of God.

In the center of Dianne’s poem, she reminds us of the Christmas story:

Wait, What? . . .God steps in . . .
God, who cannot be deceived,
To redeem the deceived
By being a descendant
From His own creation.
